Sprung Suspension Trucks: Our SD40-2 Mid Production use a "screwless" floating axle truck assembly that allows the truck to be removed and attached via a friction/snap fit system. This does, however, mean that the everyday bumps and smashes that a delivery service can visit upon these locomotives during transit may result in them coming loose. This doesn't mean that they're broken... as easily as they come off, the trucks can be reattatched. Make sure that the worm gears are lined up properly and simply press the trucks back in place.

Lubrication: Unless a locomotive has been sitting for a long period of time without use, Kato locomotives will not need lubrication prior to running. In fact, excessive lubrication can facilitate gunky buildup in your motor and impede performance.
